INTERNATIONAL TOUR DIRECTOR AND TOUR GUIDE COURSES
The International Guide Academy is pleased to announce our 4-Day Tour Guide course is being held in Denver, CO May 8 - 11, 2017 immediately after the April Tour Director Program.
This course is separate from the Tour Director course and you may take one, or the other, or both.
Tour Director: April 29 - May 7, 2017
Tour Guide: May 8 -11, 2017
Tour Director class: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Tuesday is a study/research day, Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.. Thursday is study/research, Friday and Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and Sunday is 7:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Terms & Conditions: Registration fee for the International Tour Director Course is $100 and the tuition is $1,575 for a total of $1,675. Price covers your tuition and books. Discounted housing can be arranged. Reduced cost for IGA students is $85/night plus tax. This hotel is where the classes are being held. Rooms include: Workspace with computer dataport, free local phone calls, personalized voice mail, free on-site parking, and free wireless high-speed Internet access.
Tour Guide class: This course is intended for those wishing to work as a Tour Guide. Tour Guides are knowledgeable within a specific locality such as a city, region, state or a specific geographic area. They provide walking tours, step-on guide service, local driver guide, on-site tours and may work special events, "meet and greets", etc. They are rarely away from home overnight. Scroll down for tuition costs. Classes are 8;00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. every day.
Day One: All day in class.
Day Two: All day in class.
Day Three: Morning traveling by motor coach through the Denver area where students will present narration and conference room in the afternoon where students will take exams.
Day Four: Morning guided walking tour of Denver. Afternoon will be exam review and final class instruction.
Terms & Conditions: Registration fee for the Tour Guide Course is $100 and the tuition is $795 for a total of $895. Price includes: tuition and books, motorcoach transportation during the course, entrance fees to all sites visited, on-site and step-on guides (when used).
Take both courses and receive a tuition discount. This means you can take both courses for only $2490. Both courses are independent of each other and lead to separate career paths. They do, however, complement each other. Course content is different in both classes offered.
Tour Operators, Cruise Lines, Motorcoach companies, and Meeting Planning Companies hire our Certified International Tour Directors.
Destination Management Companies, Visitors Bureaus, Tour Guiding Companies, Event Planners, and Hotels hire our Certified Tour Guides.
We have housing available onsite for students (single OR double) for the Tour Director and Tour Guide courses onsite for US$89/night single; US$99/night shared.

Each course is independent of the other and both need not be taken together to be certified. Each course carries its own certification. All books, materials, etc. required are included in the tuition. Lifetime placement assistance is available at no charge for all of our graduates.
