Is this Course for Me?

Tour Guides are knowledgeable within a specific locality such as a city, region, state, specific geographic area, or a special interest such as Adventure, Food and Wine, Photography, and so much more.
Tour Guides provide walking tours, step-on guide service, local driver guides, on-site tours, and/or may work special events, airports’ “meet and greets”, and more.
Tour guides are rarely away from home overnight.

If you want to be a Tour Guide, whether working in the USA or other countries, this is the course to take. Click here for your scheduled Tour Guide Classes for 2026.

Who Becomes a Tour Guide?

Tour Guides come from every background and walk of life.

What they share is a passion for one specific place or subject — and the desire to share it with people who came from somewhere else. If you can answer “what makes this place special?” with conviction, you have what it takes to become a Tour Guide.

What will I Learn?

YES! You can Be Paid To Travel and share your passion with others.

Why In-Person Training Works for Tour Guides

Tour Guide training is delivered in person, in a classroom, over five consecutive days. Guiding is a performance skill. It is learned by standing up, speaking, and being corrected in the moment — not by watching.

Your future workplace is local. You will guide in your city, your region, your area of expertise. A Tour Guide sleeps in their own bed, in their own home, almost every evening, while a Tour Director travels with the group for the entire tour. The training reflects that difference.

In the classroom you practise commentary out loud, take live feedback on delivery and presence, and work through real situations with other students rather than alone. You learn from the same active-industry instructors who train the Tour Directors at the International Guide Academy — people currently working in the industry, not reading from a script.

Five days, start to finish. Call 303.434.7557 for the current schedule.
